The average price of electricity on day-ahead market of the Romanian energy exchange OPCOM amounted to 48.09 euros/MWh in February 2021, which is 18.68 % higher compared to the same month in 2020 and 13.63 % lower compared to the previous month, when average baseload price amounted to 55.68 euros/MWh. Traded volume in February reached 2.254 million MWh, which is 5.36 % less than in February 2020, and 8.76 % less than in January 2021. Average traded volume in February 2021 amounted to 3,355 MWh/h. The total value of transactions in February amounted to 111.75 million euros, which is by 13.64 % more compared to February last year (98.34 million euros) and 21.65 % less than in the previous month (142.64 million euros). The share of day-ahead market in forecasted net consumption in February 2021 amounted to 46.43 %. A total of 61,354.8 MWh was traded on intraday market in February (6.88 % more than in February 2020, and 25.72 % less compared to January 2021), with an average price of 48.92 euros/MWh (10.71 % compared to February 2020 and – 13.59 % compared to the previous month). Total traded volume for bilateral contracts with delivery in February amounted to 1.14 million MWh, with an average price of 52.75 euros/MWh.
