Hidroelectrica has allocated an investment budget of 1.3 billion euro for the period 2015-2020, of which the largest part, 450 million euros for projects in progress in Rakovica, Bretea, Răstoliţa, Siriu-Surduc , Dumitra-Bumbeşti, according to a company press release.
The investment plan includes the allocation of EUR 305 million in the refurbishment of four hydroelectric large capacity, respectively Stejaru (with a capacity of 210 MW), Vidraru (with an installed capacity of 220 MW), Raul Mare Retezat (capacity installed 335 MW) and Mărişelu (with an installed capacity of 220 MW) and the modernization of hydropower. ‘
The sum of 240 million will be allocated to maintenance works funded. Also, 300 million will represent investments in new production from renewable sources (wind, solar, biomass).
The company notes that in the period 2012-2014 has invested over 270 million euros in financing new capacities of electricity production.
Hidroelectrica is the cheapest energy producer in Romania. The company is insolvent for the second time in February 2014, the first time being in June 2012 – June 2013.
