Romania: Increased average day-ahead price on OPCOM, SEE Energy News
In August 2020 on day-ahead market of the Romanian energy exchange OPCOM average price of electricity amounted to 37.88 euros/MWh, which is 37.07 % lower compared to the same month in 2019 and 2.16 % higher compared to the previous month, when average baseload price amounted to 37.08 euros/MWh.
Traded volume in August reached 1.852 million MWh, which is 1.21 % less than in August 2019, and 0.12 % less than in July 2020. Average traded volume in August 2020 amounted to 2,490 MWh/h. The total value of transactions in August amounted to 71.12 million euros, which is by 39.77 % lower compared to August last year (118.08 million euros) and 2.27 % more than in the previous month (69.54 million euros). The share of day-ahead market in forecasted net consumption in August 2020 amounted to 41.45 %. A total of 51,707.3 MWh was traded on intraday market in August (124.46 % more than in August 2019, and 36.71 % more compared to July 2020), with an average price of 43.13 euros/MWh. Total traded volume for bilateral contracts with delivery in August amounted to 1.113 million MWh, with an average price of 53.64 euros/MWh.
