Romanian distributor JT Grup Oil has secured a construction permit for a petroleum-products terminal near Orsova, extending its planned logistics network from the Black Sea to the Danube.
The new facility will be developed at the Tisovita-Dubova port in Mehedinti county. Plans include four above-ground liquid-fuel tanks and the supporting equipment and infrastructure required for storage and terminal operations.
JT Grup Oil wants to connect the Danube corridor with its operations on the Black Sea. The two locations are intended to support deliveries within Romania and to regional markets including Serbia, Hungary, Austria and Ukraine.
The permit comes as the company prepares to commission its new Constanta terminal. Technological testing has been completed, and commercial operations are scheduled to start in October.
Approximately EUR 29.5 million has been invested in the Constanta project, which entered construction before JT Grup Oil’s initial public offering in the summer of 2024.
By operating terminals on both waterways, the company aims to increase the use of maritime and river transport and strengthen its role in the Central and Eastern European fuel-logistics market.
