Romanian Labor Minister Raluca Turcan said that more than 500,000 applications for heating aid in the winter season and for the energy subsidies granted by the Vulnerable Consumer Law have already been submitted since 1 November.
According to the Vulnerable Consumer Law, individuals with incomes of up to 415 euros and families with incomes of up to 280 euros per person benefit from these two forms of support from 1 November.
On the other hand, Minister Turcan reminded that, starting with 1 November, citizens who do not meet the conditions for granting heating aid during the winter season and the energy subsidy provided by the Vulnerable Consumer Law benefit from the compensation of electricity bills (in value of at most 0.06 euros/kWh) and for natural gas (at most 33 % of the value of the component, the price of natural gas in the contract).
She added that another support measure to overcome the winter season, which is already in force, is to cap the prices of electricity and natural gas for household customers.
