In April 2025, the average price of electricity on the day-ahead market of the Romanian energy exchange OPCOM stood at 86.44 euros/MWh, marking a 44.08% increase compared to the same month in 2024, but a 18.74% decrease from the previous month, when the average baseload price was 106.36 euros/MWh.
The total traded volume for April reached 1.15 million MWh, representing a 31.29% decline compared to April 2024, and a 14.3% decrease compared to March 2025. The average traded volume per hour in April was 1,603 MWh.
The total value of transactions on the day-ahead market amounted to 106.8 million euros, which is 3.96% lower than in April 2024 (111.2 million euros) and 25.75% lower compared to the previous month (143.9 million euros). The share of the day-ahead market in forecasted net consumption for April 2024 was 29.61%.
In the intraday market, a total of 208,695.7 MWh was traded in April, which is 1.63% lower than in April 2024 and 2.5% higher compared to March 2025. The average price on the intraday market was 70.96 euros/MWh, representing a 32.11% increase from April 2024, and a 25.57% decrease from the previous month.
Additionally, the total volume of traded bilateral contracts with delivery in April amounted to 1.225 million MWh, with an average price of 101.98 euros/MWh.
