Romania, Romgaz will double the price of natural gas it supplies to ELCEN, SEE Energy News
Romanian natural gas producer Romgaz will double the price of natural gas it supplies to Bucharest-based thermal energy producer ELCEN. This will increase ELCEN’s production cost by some 60 %, but also lead to an increasing in heating prices for the population by 20 %.
The new price will be valid for 2022 gas year starting on 1 October. The price agreed between the two companies is 30.5 euros/MWh. As the price of natural gas is accounted for roughly 70 % of ELCEN’s production costs, it will rise by about 60 %.
