Romanian engineering and technology company Simtel Team said that it has built two solar power plants with a total capacity of 490.5 kW for Kaufland Romania.
The two plants are expected to generate a total of 639.8 MWh of electricity per year. The plants featuring over 1,300 solar panels mounted on the roofs of Kaufland stores in Bucharest and Focsani will help cut CO2 emissions by 760 tons per year
Communications Director at Kaufland Romania Valer Hancas said that the company plans to develop at least nine solar panel installations in other spaces belonging to the company annually until 2025.
In June, Enel X Romania, a local subsidiary of Italian Enel Group, will build a solar power plants for the retailer Kaufland in Turda, in western Romania. The solar power plant, a project worth one million euros, will have installed capacity of 1 MW. The plant is expected to generate 1,277 MWh of electricity per year. The project includes the turnkey delivery of a system that consists of over 2,000 solar panels located on a plot of land in the vicinity of the Kaufland logistics center in Turda.
