An investigation into the agreed lease of six petrol stations owned by Romanian company Aral by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) will be launch by Romanian Competition Council. The statement from the competition regulator said that in order to determine whether the concentration is compatible with a normal competitive environment, it will consider the notified transaction under the merger regulation. The six fuel distribution stations which are located in Arad, Timis and Sibiu counties will be operated by SOCAR based on a ten-year lease. SOCAR’s Romanian subsidiary currently owns a network of 44 petrol stations in Romania.
