According to the draft emergency ordinance, state-owned electricity producers will not be allowed to sell electricity for deliveries in 2023 and 2024.
In order to maintain energy security, between 1 April 2022 and 30 June 2022, will not be able to conclude contracts for electricity deliveries in 2023 -2024 period. The ordinance will be applicable to Hidroelectrica, Nuclearelectrica, EC Oltenia and ELCEN.
At the moment, 9.8 TWh of electricity for the delivery in 2023 has been contracted on the Romanian energy exchange (OPCOM) at the average price of 104 euros/MWh. Contracted deliveries for 2024 amount to 1.7 TWh, at the average price of 75 euros/MWh.
