Romanian PVC producer TeraPlast Group has submitted its solar panels with integrated storage units project for financing through the National Recovery and Resilience Program (PNRR).
The project aims to develop a small-scale solar project in Saratel industrial park, with produced electricity being used for TeraPlast’s own consumption.
COO of TeraPlast Group Nicolae Rosu said that this project enables the company to reach two of its strategic goals. First, it is an integral part of its sustainable development program and will significantly reduce the company’s carbon footprint. This project will decrease the annual CO2 emissions by 3.200 tons. Furthermore, the company will also increase its competitiveness by reducing the energy costs and will be hedged from the energy market volatility. This is even more important considering the complex market context at the moment, and which tends to get permanent.
The future solar power plant will have an installed capacity of 4.56 MW, with estimated investment cost of 3.8 million euros.
