The total volume of trade on the Romanian day-ahead electricity market, OPCOM DAM, in March 2022 amounted to 2.036 million MWh, which is 18% less than the same month last year (2.48 million MWh), according to the monthly report of the operator stock market.
Compared to February 2022, the volume decreased by 10.8% in March.
The average daily trade volume decreased by 18% annually, to 2,740 MWh per hour.
The share of DAM in projected net national consumption decreased in March by 13.8% on an annual basis, to 41.35%.
The average price for the base load on DAM in March was 274.22 euros per MWh, which is 403.6% more than in the same month last year (54.46 euros per MWh in March 2021).
On a monthly basis, the price increased by 45.5%, from 188.51 euros per MWh in February.
The value of transactions on OPCOM DAM in March increased on an annual basis by 318.5%, from 137 million euros to 573.4 million euros.
The average weighted price on the market within the day, OPCOM IDM, was 296.34 euros per MWh in March, which is 65.3% more than the previous month, and the trading volume was 118,512 MWh.
