Romanian electricity transmission system operator Transelectrica has launched an interactive map on its website, where the availability of capacities for the integration of new production capacities can be analyzed.
The map divides Romania into eight regions and the information is provided for 2021, 2025 and 2030.
The information will be updated twice a year for Transelectrica’s projects and once a month for connection requests.
Romania is facing congestion of production capacities in some regions. For example, in Dobrogea, there is zero available capacity for the connection, while requests for new wind and solar projects amount to almost 5,000 MW. Based on current data, Dobrogea region will be able to accommodate additional 630 MW until 2025 and 1,050 MW by 2030.
