Romanian transmission system operator Transelectrica intends to buy electricity to cover its own technological consumption (OTC) and is issuing a call for offers.
Transelectrica is seeking electricity sales offers comprising power band profiles in the range of 15 – 25 MW, it said in a statement. The company plans to buy the electricity through bilateral sale contracts which will cover its technical power losses in 2025.
Technical power losses represent the difference between the amount of electricity entered into the transmission network and the amount of electricity output from the same network. Technical power losses include OTC, which is the energy consumed during the physical transport process of electricity through the network, and commercial losses, such as those caused by differences in reading and data measurement and human errors.
The offers, which will be evaluated on the ‘lowest price’ basis, can be sent in by July 11.
