Romania, Transgaz will distribute 50 % of its profit in 2021 as dividends

According to the Government’s decision, Romanian natural gas transmission system operator Transgaz will distribute 50 % of its profit in 2021 as dividends, leaving the company enough funds for its investment plans.

Transgaz has been exempted from mandatory 90 % dividend distribution in order to provide additional financial sources for investments. The same applies for electricity producer Nuclearelectrica and natural gas producer Romgaz.

Transgaz recorded a net profit in the amount of 34 million euros in 2021, which is by 1 % higher compared to the previous year. The company’s operating revenues rose by 2 % year-on-year, reaching 275 million euros in 2021, while operating costs rose 5 % to 248.5 million euros.
