Romania’s natural gas consumption in the first four months of 2012 totaled 63.673 million MWh, standing 1.1 percent below the 64.844 million MWh registered in the same period of the previous year, shows data centralised by the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE).
In April this year, the domestic gas production accounted for 78.42 percent of overall resources, with the top-two producers – Romgaz and Petrom respectively – providing 97 percent of the amount.
Gas imports covered the difference, specifically 21.58 percent. The top-three Romanian importers – domestic suppliers – accounted for a combined 66.49 percent.
The price of imported natural gas was 458 dollars for 1,000 cubic metres (144.04 lei per MWh) this April, down from the 481 dollars per 1,000 cubic m (149.52 lei/MWh) registered in March.
