Rompetrol Rafinare is expanding storage capacity at its Petromidia refinery as part of a broader programme to improve the flexibility and reliability of crude oil and fuel logistics.
Five tanks at the Navodari refinery are being modernised or have recently returned to service.
Since 2007, the company has rehabilitated or upgraded more than 60 storage tanks across the Petromidia and Vega refineries.
A tank used for distillates in diesel production has already been expanded from 5,000 to 6,000 cubic metres.
Additional works scheduled during 2026 include increasing a gasoline tank from 5,000 to 6,000 cubic metres and expanding two tanks used for diesel and other refinery components from 10,000 to 12,000 cubic metres each.
The programme also covers refurbishment of a 57,000-cubic-metre crude oil tank.
The investments are intended to increase operational flexibility, strengthen fuel and crude handling reliability and reduce logistics constraints as Rompetrol continues modernising its Romanian refining assets.
