The representatives of the European investment fund “Securum”, the company interested in building solar parks in Serbia, visited the Mining Basin “Kolubara”.
According to Milorad Grčić, CEO of MB “Kolubara”, since the initial contact has been established, the further steps are expected to lead towards a serious, long-term cooperation in exploiting the land already exhausted in mining operations, thereby creating the new employment opportunities. Milan Jakovljević, the representative of Energy Generation Department at EPS explained that last year this company had signed with Serbia an agreement on building solar park which will occupy 3,000 hectares and generate 1 GWh of electric power.
Ivan Matejak, manager of “Securum”, has expressed gratitude for the support given to this project, emphasizing his enthusiasm for the success of future cooperation with the companies within “Electric Power Industry of Serbia” and local communities, at the same time pointing out the interesting symbolic of production of solar energy on the land that has already been used for the same purpose.
