Serbia will repay its 148MEUR gas debt to Gazprom by assignment stake in the company Petrohemija, said Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic in Moscow.
“We talked today and agreed to pay off the debt (to Gazprom) through the property. Specifically, of the company Petrohemija”, he said.
Russian agency reminded that the Serbian arrearages for natural gas supplies from Russia exceeded 180 MEUR. An unnamed source familiar with the payment dynamics said to Tass that Serbia did not pay the gas for February and March of last year and for March and April of this year in total of 148 MEUR. In addition, Serbia has not paid the debt for delivery in the period from 1995th to 2001st of 34.8 MEUR.
Another source confirmed this amount and said that the issue of unpaid debt was imposed on ministerial talks on June 20th in Moscow.
The issue of debt to Russia and Russian companies was touched, confirmed then Minister of Energy and Mining of Serbia Aleksandar Antic to Serbian media.
