Serbian company Hidrotehnika-Hidroenergetika and the Albanian power utility KESH are going to establish a consortium in order to build dams and hydropower plants throughout the world.
All the registration papers for the first SerbianAlbanian company have already been prepared and it is expected that it will be registered next week. This joint company is a result of an agreement of Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and his Albanian counterpart Edi Rama and the first project on which the new company will work on will be the construction of hydropower plant in Albania.
Hidrotehnika-Hidroenergetika is a company with long tradition and considerable experience in building dams and HPPs, which is exactly what KESH needs. The joint company will start with a construction of a HPP in Albania and will gradually expand its operation to Europe, Russia and Asia. No single company from either Serbia or Albania is big enough to secure a job on the world market, but they have a chance if they combine their resources.
This information was confirmed by the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia Marko Cadez, who said that it is important that good business relations have been established to the benefit of both countries, adding that other Serbian business are also very interested in cooperating with Albanian companies.
