In Thermal Power Plant “Kostolac B” implementation of projects included in the first phase of the Chinese loan is expected next year. After last year’s revitalization of block “B2” revitalization of the block “B1” will also be made in 2014. For turbo generator plants have already signed a contract with “Alstom”, replacement parts of the turbine is planned, as well as the replacement of generator stations.
It is about extensive operations, which will require maximum involvement of all stakeholders, said the director of the “Kostolac B”, Dragan Zivic: – We prepare for next year, when we expect revitalization of the block “B1”. For turbo generator plants have already signed a contract with “Alstom”, replacement parts of the turbine is planned, as well as the replacement of generator stations.
The whole activity starts on 1st of March. In TPP “Kostolac B” and the Institute “Mihajlo Pupin” preparations are done and we are completing the final agreements, which include the development of a Gantt chart and instructions. Activities at the boiler plant are proceeding according to plan. Chinese corporation “CMEC” with its sub-contractors is our partner in this. We are preparing the site and we expect the arrival of their funds first for disassembly – assembly works, means mounting of their cranes and other equipment that will be used to dismantle the electrostatic precipitator, similar to what is done on the block “B2” in 2012. In 2014 we expect an increased amount of work on the boiler plant, it is the replacement electrostatic precipitator, boiler parts replacement in accordance with agreed plans of our company and Chinese partners.
Construction of flue gas desulphurization is also funded by the provided Chinese loan. After completion of construction, this facility will significantly contribute to the reduction of emission of harmful substances in the air: – Also, we prepare for construction works this year, as far as we the weather conditions allow, on the facility for desulphurization. It should be said that this is a desulphurization system, which will be built in the Power Industry of Serbia for the first time. We finish the preparatory works and expect to get all the necessary permits soon so we can start the activities.
Desulphurization system will include the works of both blocks, and our intention is that during the the synchronization of block “B2” next year, this system is also ready for commissioning, said the director Zivic. Higher level of environmental protection will be achieved through other projects, on which we intensively work this fall: – These days, we worked with a part of EPS, which refers to the protection of the environment, on the project for wastewater facilities. We are completing the financial structure, and this facility should also be built next year.
