Serbia, CMC Europe plans to build solar power plant near Sombor, News Serbia Energy
CMC Europe, a Hungarian subsidiary of Chinese company, has expressed interest in the construction of solar power plant with installed capacity of up to 100 MW near Sombor in Serbia’s northern province of Vojvodina.
The Mayor of Sombor Antonio Ratkovic met with the representatives of CMC Europe and signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the company. He said that the city will provide all necessary assistance in the construction of the plant.
In May, the largest solar power plant in Hungary, built by China National Machinery Import and Export Corporation (CMC) was commissioned near the city of Kaposvar. The power plant represents a 5 % increase in Hungary’s solar capacity and it is estimated that it will reduce annual CO2 by 120,000 tons.
