Serbia: Cooperation on renewable energy and energy efficiency projects with Germany
, News Serbia EnergyThe increase of energy efficiency is one of the priority areas in which Serbia expects a successful cooperation with Germany, said Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Zorana Mihajlovic after meeting with German Ambassador Thomas Scheib.
The statement from the Ministry said that the two officials discussed topic related to mining and energy, especially the increase of energy efficiency and renewable energy. Minister Mihajlovic added that there is room to further enhance the cooperation in the fields of renewable energy and energy transition.
According to her, the Ministry is preparing a new legislative framework and reforms of e-energy and e-mining, which will simplify the procedures and open this sector for new investments. It was also said that the total value of the projects that are being realized, with the support of the German Development Bank (KfW), is more than 800 million euros. Ambassador Schieb expressed his conviction that the cooperation with the relevant Ministry would further expand and noted that energy was one of the most important sectors for the German Development Bank, which has great experience with “green agenda” and energy transition.
