Serbian state-owned power utility EPS announced that it has successfully completed a project for the modernization of the monitoring and management system at thermal power plant Nikola Tesla B worth 32.7 million euros.
EPS’ own investment in the project amounted to about 22.4 million euros, while the remainder was granted by the Swiss Government. The equipment needed for the upgrade of the monitoring systems was provided by German company Siemens, which led to an increase of total capacity of two units at TPP Nikola Tesla B by 60 MW to 650 MW.
Coal fired TPP Nikola Tesla B has six units with combines installed capacity of 1,502 MW and it is part of the Serbian largest electricity generation complex Termoelektrane Nikola Tesla (TENT). TENT consists of four thermal power plants Nikola Tesla A, Nikola Tesla B, Kolubara and Morava with total installed capacity of 3,288 MW.
