Serbian state-owned utility EPS has launched procurement for additional professional supervision at the 66 MW Kostolac wind farm, with the contract valued at approximately €275,000.
The decision follows substantial delays and deviations from the original construction schedule. Stronger supervision is intended to maintain construction quality and safety and improve control over implementation.
The selected contractor will monitor works daily, verify the quality of materials and equipment, review construction records and prepare weekly, monthly and final reports. The supervision team will also coordinate with the FIDIC engineer, existing supervisors and the principal contractor.
A central requirement will be rapid escalation of irregularities, risks and timetable slippage to EPS.
Kostolac forms part of EPS’s programme to increase renewable capacity within a generation portfolio historically dominated by coal. Delays at the project therefore affect the timing of new renewable generation entering Serbia’s electricity system.
The procurement was launched on 5 September 2025.
