The selection of the contractor for the construction of the solar power plant Petka, the first solar power plant to be operated by Serbian power utility EPS, and the signing of the agreement is expected by the end of August. The start of the realization of that part of the solar project is expected in September.
Solar power plant Petka will be built at the external disposal side of the open pit coalmine Cirikovac. The installed capacity will be 9.75 MW, with a planned annual electricity generation of 15.6 GWh.
Preparatory works have been completed and the surface on which the power plant is to be built has already been cleared. The future power plant will cover an area of 11.62 hectares.
The planned value of the investment is 11.6 million euros and it will be financed from EPS’ funds. Six bids had been received at the tender and they were opened on 23 May. The examination and the rating of the bids, the decision on the most favourable bid and the signing of the agreement with the selected contractor are to follow.
The planned deadline for the realization of the project is 15 months. The solar power plant should be commissioned in late 2024.
