Serbia: EPS to restart TPP TENT, News Serbia Energy
Acting director general of EPS Aleksandar Obradovic said that the situation in “TENT A” in Obrenovac was stable and hoped that the first units would be put into operation already on Sunday. About 13.000 households still without electricity.
Visiting RTS Obradovic said the situation in “TENT” currently was stable but the danger was not over yet
Even in normal times, when the Danube rises and overflows into the river Sava, that river can grow up to one meter near TENT “A” in Obrenovac, explains Obradovic.
Although the water level remains at about 60 inches from overflowing, EPS director expects that the first units of TENT “A” will be put into operation already on Sunday.
In the case of the situation in “Kolubara”, Obradovic said that already today they expected the first coal amount from the mine.
Obradovic thanked colleagues from “Elektromreze Serbia” who were working day and night to defend TENT of flood and who still were on the mounds.
The electricity production in Serbia has been consciously reduced, says acting director of EPS, why it is currently imported from neighboring countries at market prices.
40 percent of daily production on the “Djerdap” is being currently lost because the water is leaked in order to reduce the risk of new flooding.
According to Obradovic, there have been attempts of misuses by some electricity sellers but the power utility companies of Republika Srpska, Montenegro, Bulgaria and Hungary have placed at the disposal to Serbia all their surplus in production, so that the stable electricity supply is provided.
When it comes to Obrenovac, acting director of EPS said that electricity in this city would be turned when it would be safe, and when the water withdrew and substations drained.
There are only 13 thousand customers throughout the country without electricity, , of which 12 thousand households are in Obrenovac and its surroundings, Obradovic said.
