Power consumption in Serbia increased by 50 percent in the past few days, said the deputy director general of the Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS) Životije Jovanovic on Monday.
He told Beta agency that the power consumption before the temperature drops to below minus ten degrees Celsius was about 80 gigawatts, and now it is about 120 gigawatts.
“Consumption has increased significantly, but it did not surprise us. EPS has enough electricity provided for this period,” said Jovanovic.
An import of electricity, according to him, is minimal and according to plan and it is only one percent.
