Serbia, Gazprom acquired 6.2 % stake in NIS
, News Serbia EnergyLast week, GazpromNeft, a subsidiary of Russian gas company Gazprom, sold 10,035,687 shares of Serbian oil company NIS, thus reducing its share in the company from 56.2 % to 50 %.
Later, NIS announced that the shares were bought by the parent company Gazprom, which now holds 6.2 % in Serbian company.
In 2009, GazpromNeft bought 51 % stake in NIS from the Serbian Government, which was increased to 56.2 % in 2010.
Currently, Serbian Government holds 29.9 % of the company’s shares, with 14 % held by small shareholders.
