Serbia: GazpromNeft NIS Serbia company remains with 3% rent fee for oil and gas exploration
, News Serbia EnergyMinister of Energy Zoran Mihajlovic stated that the transfer of the Serbian Oil Industry (NIS) employees to the leasing companies is in accordance with the law. Mihajlovic, who is also a Chairperson of NIS Shareholders’ Parliament, said at a press conference in Belgrade that this company has 4.5 thousand employees at the moment, 10.000 workers as it was before privatization.
She said that she had spoken to departments about the problem of moving large numbers of NIS workers in leasing companies and that the Ministry of Resources cannot react because it is not against the law.
According to her words, the government, as an owner of 29 percent of NIS can talk to the owner of the majority about this issue, but it cannot change it.
State negotiates with the business management about NIS investments and they arranged a plan that will be achieved- Mihajlovic said.
Mihajlovic confirmed that the NIS will pay rent fee for oil and gas extracting of 3 instead of 7%, she advocated for, by 2023.
