Senvion has signed a conditional contract with Belgian renewable energy producer Elicio to install turbines at Alibunar windfarm in Serbia.

Signed at the Hamburg WindEnergy Fair, the contract will see Senvion deliver, install, and commission 21 MM100 turbines.

Senvion will also be responsible for servicing for a period of 15 years.

The company has completed a similar deal for four Senvion MM100 turbines at Malibunar windfarm.

Senvion’s executive vice-president sales Europe Jochen Magerfleisch said: “The Alibunar and Malibunar projects are a major success for Senvion. They not only mark the successful market entry into Serbia for us, they also show both the flexibility of Senvion to deliver turbines to every location and market.

“We are particularly happy to be working with Elicio again, after cooperating on two projects in France and Belgium before.

“The market entry in Serbia is yet another testament of the continued success of Senvion’s new market entry strategy, which has seen Senvion enter new markets in South America, Asia, Northern Europe, and now Eastern Europe in a short span of time.”

Installation of the turbines at Alibunar is expected to take place in autumn 2018. The turbines that will be installed at the Alibunar windfarm will have a hub height of 100m and rated output of 2MW each. They will also be able to power around 27,600 households annually.
