No matter how hard consumers try to save on electricity, some items on the bill cannot be changed. Citizens prepare fixed fees for billing demand, measuring point and the newest is for the subsidized electricity from renewable energy sources. Citizens must pay for these items no matter if they use it or not, and hardly anyone can see some benefit of it.
The simplest way for state to compensate the money that is missing is to take it from fees within a law order. Fee for subsidized electricity is used like that this time. EPS will charge special item in amount of 4,4 para per KWH after March bill.
Citizens will provide additional 10 million EUR to the state only on this base in 2013 i.e. 16 dinars per average electricity consumer of 400 KWH approximately. This is almost 200 dinars annually for renewable energy sources electricity bought from privileged producers at subsidized priced, so called feed-in-tariffs.
And like that, no matter how hard citizens try to decrease electricity consumption, some items on electricity bill cannot be lower or clearer, despite all explanations. Consumers pay 348 dinars for billing demand and 119,7 dinars for measuring point on fixed basis.
Citizens pay little less than 500 dinars on average each month. Hardly anyone can see some profit of this. Despite paying for measuring points, electric meters are old for several decades. Tender for new electric meter cannot succeed.
-Tariff system is very complicated to most of people, almost all consumers cannot understand what we pay, when the first and when second tariff begins or how strength is arranged. EPS must simplify its bills so an average citizen can understand what he gets and what he should pay for- stated Ljubodrag Savic, Professor on Economy University.
Our interlocutor points that this fee has some point, only in the case when this money is used for renewable energy sources subsidizing, as well as for industry development.
