A municipal gasification project worth EUR29m has been launched in the northwest Serbian city of Sombor, newswires reported, citing local state-owned gas company Srbijagas. The project includes the construction of around 500km of gas distribution network, 100km of medium-pressure gas mains, 26km of low-pressure mains and 17 metering and regulating stations, SeeNews reported March 19, citing a statement the company posted on its website after the official launch ceremony.
The project is expected to be completed within two years. Srbijagas also plans to complete by the end of 2012 a second 7km pipeline that will pump gas to the Sombor area.
