Serbia: Power utility EPS HPPs marked increase in production in 1stQ2015, News Serbia Energy
Serbian power utility Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) power generation facilities, TPPs and HPPs, marked positive results in electricity production in 1st Q2015. HPPs marked highest operation engagement, higher than usually dominant coal fired TPPs.
For the first 4 months in 2015 power plants within the Power utility EPS Elektroprivreda Srbije produced 12.844 billion kwh which is 532 million kwh above the needed quantity for national electricity system. Monthly production of power energy in april was lower than compared with april 2014, production in hydro power plants was higher that compared with april 2014.
According to Vera Stanojevic,manager for technical affairs in department for electricity production of EPS, in first four months in 2015 total engagement of HPPs was higher than the engagement of thermal power plants. In total production of jan-apr 2015 EPS marked highest share of HPPs in value of 40% which had positive effects on total business and financial results of EPS.
