Serbia: Power utility EPS seeks bidders for reconstruction of small HPPs
, News Serbia EnergyPower utility Elektroprivreda Srbije EPS with funding from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, is implementing a small hydropower program to rehabilitate the total of 15 small hydro projects and to construct two new small hydro projects at existing dams.
Serbia power utility Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) seeks bids to supply and install electrical and mechanical equipment for reconstruction of seven small hydroelectric projects totaling 9.98 MW. Bids are due July 24.
Elektroprivreda took bids in January for electro-mechanical equipment to reconstruct eight other small hydro projects totaling 9.79 MW. Serbia’s Ministry of Finance also pre-qualified firms last December to perform an inventory of small hydropower projects and sites. Serbia’s energy ministry developed a National Action Plan for Renewable Energy to increase green power sources to 27 percent of the country’s overall mix by 2020 from 21 percent.
Elektroprivreda now seeks bids to supply and install electrical and mechanical equipment for reconstruction of seven small hydropower projects. The projects and equipment to be supplied include:
750-kW Sveta Petka, near Nis, reconstruction of three turbines;
1.7-MW Sicevo, near Nis, install two new turbines;
220-kW Gamzigrad, near Zajecar, reconstruct two turbines;
5.2-MW Sokolovica, near Zajecar, replace three turbines;
930-kW Vucje, near Leskovac, install new turbine;
400-kW Jelasnica, near Surdulica, reconstruct two turbines;
780-kW Temac, near Pirot, reconstruct three turbines.
Procurement also includes reconstruction or modification of auxiliary equipment such as gates, valves, transformers, cranes, penstock, governors, controls, etc.
