Serbia, PowerChina wants to invest in RES projects in Serbia, News Serbia Energy
General Manager of PowerChina Ji Xiaoyong said after the meting with Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Zorana Mihajlovic that the Chinese company wants to realize its first investment in renewable energy in Europe, by investing in hydro, wind and solar potential of Serbia.
He welcomed the adoption of new laws dedicated to sustainable development and green energy, adding that PowerChina is interested in investing in hydro, wind and solar projects in Serbia because it believes that the possibilities are great there, considering the excellent relations of the two countries, the potentials of Serbia and the good investment environment.
Minister Mihajlovic said that Serbia’s goal is to improve its energy stability in the next decades, and the vision of green Serbia will enable the economic growth, new jobs and enough energy coming from renewable sources. Most of the planned projects in the new investment cycle worth 17 billion are related to renewable energy. She emphasized the importance of the construction of new capacities for the production of energy from renewable sources and said that it would secure long-term energy stability.
