The Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry has announced its approval of a proposal to reduce natural gas prices for the third quarter of 2024. The final decision regarding the adjustment of gas supply prices will be made by the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), following the recommendation from the Federal Ministry of Trade.
Minister Vedran Lakić stated that if oil and gas prices on the European market continue to be influenced by political factors and global price trends, a further price adjustment may be implemented for the fourth quarter of 2024.
The Ministry noted that the decision to lower natural gas prices was influenced by recent developments in the global gas and oil markets, with a gradual decline in oil and oil derivative prices contributing to the reduction. Gas prices in FBiH are determined quarterly using a specific formula. For the third quarter of 2024, the price of gas for privileged tariff customers (distribution companies) supplied by Energoinvest will decrease by 3.69%.
