According to the Bulgarian National Statistical Institute, in June 2024, electricity production decreased by 3.9% compared to May, totaling 2,643 GWh, while electricity consumption increased by 2.7%, reaching 2,494 GWh. Natural gas consumption dropped by 10.3%, amounting to 183 million cubic meters, with production remaining steady at 1 million cubic meters.
Year-on-year, electricity production fell by 16.9% compared to June 2023, while consumption rose by 8.4%. Natural gas consumption increased significantly by 26.2% compared to the same period in 2023.
In terms of petroleum products, unleaded petrol production decreased by 2.1% to 143,000 tons, while consumption surged by 18.4% to 58,000 tons. Diesel production slightly increased by 0.3% to 299,000 tons, with consumption declining by 6.4% to 204,000 tons.
LPG consumption saw an 8.3% increase to 39,000 tons, with production rising by 9.1% to 12,000 tons. Additionally, solid fuel production grew by 27.9% to 555,000 tons, and its consumption rose by 22.2% to 594,000 tons.
