Intense competition among bidders has driven the price of electricity from Romania’s largest wind farm, Fantanele-Cogealac, up to around 110 euros/MWh. This price was secured by Electrica’s subsidiary, DEER, which won four of the seven contracts offered for band electricity deliveries in 2026. The auction’s starting prices ranged from 80 to 104 euros/MWh.
The total value of the contracts signed by Evryo Group, the owner of the wind farm, exceeds 12 million euros. The seven contracts cover electricity deliveries scheduled for January-April or January-May of 2026, accounting for approximately 8% of the annual output of the 900 MW Fantanele-Cogealac wind farm.
