A total of 404,970.3 MWh of electricity was traded on the day-ahead market at the Serbian energy exchange SEEPEX in January 2026, marking an 18.3% decline compared to the previous month, with an average of 13,063.6 MWh per day. Trade volumes were also 11.1% lower than in January 2025.
The average daily base price on the day-ahead market in January reached 118.1 euros/MWh, up 1.4% from December, while the average euro-peak price climbed to 136.3 euros/MWh, representing a 5.9% increase.
SEEPEX was officially launched on 17 February 2016, starting with a traded volume of 1,925 MWh. The exchange is jointly owned by the Serbian electricity transmission system operator EMS and the European Power Exchange (EPEX SPOT), aiming to foster a competitive, transparent, and reliable electricity market in Serbia and southeastern Europe. The platform also introduced an intraday market in July 2023 to further enhance market liquidity and trading opportunities.
