Serbia’s SEEPEX day-ahead market recorded its highest monthly trading volume in September, while average electricity prices increased from August.
Turnover reached 579,406.3 MWh, up 5.9% month on month and 26.6% year on year. Average daily volume was 19,313.5 MWh.
The monthly baseload price rose 9.7% to €150.01/MWh, while the euro-peak average increased 14.1% to €131.83/MWh.
Peak-period electricity remained cheaper than the full-day average, showing that higher monthly prices did not remove the discount during conventional daytime delivery hours.
The intraday market traded 5,801 MWh at an average price of €181.76/MWh. Its volume was equivalent to about 1% of day-ahead turnover, leaving the day-ahead auction dominant.
The record strengthens SEEPEX’s role in Serbian wholesale trading, while the higher intraday average highlights the potentially greater cost of adjusting positions closer to delivery.
