Serbia: Tender for modernization of ash and slag transportation system at TENT A, News Serbia Energy
Serbian state-owned power utility EPS has launched an international tender, including the prequalification procedure, for the modernization of ash and slag transportation system at the thermal power plant Nikola Tesla A (TENT A).
The investment in the modernization is partially financed by the German Development Bank KfW, which will provide 45 million euros, while the remaining 21 million euros will be provided by EPS itself. The deadline for the submission for prequalification procedure is 5 June 2018.
The agreement regarding the modernization of TENT A was signed between EPS and KfW Bank in March 2017 with the aim of improving environmental protection conditions. Acting Director of EPS Milorad Grcic said on the occasion that this way EPS is showing its dedication to environmental protection through investments in the modernization of its thermal power plants, adding that reliable electricity supply along with environmental principles is a priority for the sustainable development of any country.
Termoelektrane Nikola Tesla (TENT) consists of four thermal power plants Nikola Tesla A, Nikola Tesla B, Kolubara and Morava with total installed capacity of 3,288 MW. With total power output of 1,502 MW (two 210 MW units and four 308 MW units), TPP Nikola Tesla A is the largest thermal power plant in Serbia.
