A tough August is waiting for us;we have to provide conditions that the production reaches the maximum level, in order to ensure sufficient coal quantities on the landfills during the fall and to enter safely into winter, said the director of the thermal power plant Kostolac Dragan Jovanovic.
Director of Thermal Power Plant Kostolac Dragan Jovanovic said that it would be enough coal for the winter and he did not expect any problems with the electricity supply.
“We are facing a difficult August, we try to provide conditions for the production at the maximum level in order to ensure sufficient coal quantities during the fall on the landfill and to get safely into the winter”, said Jovanovic.
He said that the citizens expectedcold weatherduring the winter, but the heat should not be a problem and measures were taken to make regular supply of electricity.
“Both the Government and the Energy Department have taken additional measures to provide additional quantities of energy that are believed to be missed, so I believe that the things everyone fears ofwill not happened, and these are therestrictions of electricity”, said Jovanovic.
He said it was too ambitious to say that Kostolac was backbone of Serbian energy, but it was an important element of the production, especially after the May floods.
“It is very important capacity especially during the winter when Kolubara is in significant problems due to flooding when the units in TENT will have problems to work on a full load”,said Jovanovic.
