Serbian electricity transmission system operator EMS has put on public debate the text of the new electricity Market Code. The deadline for remarks submission is 28 October.
The new electricity Market Code is made in accordance with the Energy Law and the relevant regulations of the European Union. The Market Code governs principles, rules and procedures on the wholesale electricity market in Serbia and the contractual framework which specifies the rights and obligations of participants in the market.
The adoption of the Market Rules established the necessary legal framework for further development and efficient functioning of the electricity market on the principles of competition and its integration into the European single market.
