“TPPs and pits Kostolac” have finished negotiations with Chinese Company CMEC for construction of the new block B3 in TPP “Kostolac B” on 20 August.Project with Chinese partners has two phases and it is concluded on the base of international agreement between Serbia and China.
-Project with Chinese partners has two phases and it is concluded on the base of international agreement between Serbia and China. General Contract Agreement was signed three years ago in 2010 after which conclusion of individual contract for the first phase followed whose realization is in progress. Then activities on organization and preparation of the second phase were launched together with today’s plan, all elements of contract for the second phase are harmonized and paragraphed. Expert team from Elektroprivreda Srbije worked on this business, i.e. “TE-KO Kostolac” and practically all technical requests that refer to newly adopted European Regulation that are related to gas emission decrease and all standards are harmonized with valid laws of Serbia- Director of “TE-KO Kostolac”, Dragan Jovanovic, said.
Total price of the second phase is 715,6 million USD. The price remained on the level from 2010 i.e. it is the same price defined by General Contract Agreement. Price of the new block B3 is 613 million USD while the price of equipment for mine extension is 97,6 million USD. Conditions for final contract signing are being achieved at the end of feasibility study in the next month and at the end of Environmental Influence Estimation Study and state gave guarantee for budget projecting for Republic of Serbia in 2013.
-I’m especially glad that this job is done only with own resources i.e. this job was done by EPS’s team and “TE-KO Kostolac”. We didn’t engage assets for additional consultants and other consultative activities. Only contract is very complex and I want to thank all members that participated in objectively hard job in order to achieve this result- Dragan Jovanovic stressed.
Annual amount of coal about 3 million tons is required for supply of the new block B3 that will be over in 58 month period since project activation. Therefore the Study of Justification of Pit Extension, which showed that one BTO system is necessary as well as construction of the new substation, needs to be done.
