Ministry of Regional Development and Local Government and Ministry of Energy will suggest interests’ write-off to heating plants in the next couple of days- Minister Verica Kalanovic announced.
She stressed on press conference in Government that this refers only to interests, while the main debt will have to be paid off.
Minister of Energy Zorana Mihajlovic stated that purchases of heating plants in Serbia are around 20 billion dinars, and that plants owed between 35 and 37 billion dinars. Heating plants owe 35 thousand tons of crude oil for 2011/12 heating season and 40 thousand tons for this one.
“We’ll try to draw a line between purchasing and owing so public communal companies can function normally”, Mihajlovic stressed.
She said that series of measures are planned to be done so heating plants can be economically and energy efficient in the following period.
Ministry of regional development will reconsider the possibility to write off debts that citizens and industry owe to heating plants.
