Serbian Energy Agency approved new prices for electricity transmission to Public TSO Company Elektromreza Srbije (EMS).
Total average electricity price will be 0.435 dinars per kilowatt-hour since 1 March, i.e. it will be 29% higher instead of 37% required in December 2012.
This price will be applied directly on system consumers connected to transmission system i.e. only on buyers that had to come out on market on 1 January and whose consumption refers to less than 10% of market.
Price increase is the consequence of the increase of expenses for electricity loss compensation in electricity transmission system mostly. PC EMS started to buy electricity on 1 January at price that is not regulated and is 60% higher than previous one.
Other transmission expenses are increased significantly under reported inflation in earlier period- it was added in the statement.
Expenses increase for all other buyers that are supplied by PC EPS at regulated prices will be 9,2% because the company provides it simultaneously now i.e. it sells energy for loss compensation and system services.
New transmission expenses will be included in the price for these buyers when new public supply prices are approved for EPS- it was stated in the Energy Agency. Average electricity transmission price is, after this increase, the lowest in the European region which is covered by ENTSO-E transmission systems operators’ association- it was added in the announcement.
