“Thermal Power Plants and open pit mines Kostolac” signed a contract with the Polish company “Alstom” on the capital repair of turbine and generator of the unit “B1”. Agreement on capital repair of turbine and generator in the unit “B1” in TPP “Kostolac B”, worth 21.9 million dollars, with the Polish company “Alstom”, which will perform this work as it was the case in the unit “B2”, was signed on 18th September in Kostolac.
Dragan Jovanovic, director of the economy company “Thermal Power Plants and open pit mines Kostolac” signed the important business contract on client behalf and the signature put Robert Butzke, vice president of “Alstom” and Darius Gladyszewski as representatives of Polish company.
The Unit” B1″ in the Thermal Power Plant “Kostolac B” will be stopped on 1st March because of the capital turbine repair with complete turbine blades system, and operations will be done by 1st December 2014. In that period, among other things, will be also done the reconstruction of the control turbine system and so called “bypass” of the high pressure turbine. It will be also done the capital generator repair with factory rotor overhaul. Three generating stations will be replaced with new, modernized stations. Heaters of high and low pressure will be replaced and capital repair of turbine condenser will be done and factory overhaul of cooling water circulating pumps. The aim of this work is to reach the nominal power in the unit “B1” of 350 MW, then to increase the efficiency, availability of facilities and to extend the service life of turbine equipment.
