A Memorandum of Understanding between the Secretariat of Energy and Mineral Resources and Slovak Green Energy Company was signed in The Government of AP Vojvodina.
Ceremony was hosted by the provincial secretary for Energy and Mineral Resources, Natasa Bajic Pavicevic, and the ceremony was attended by Acting Director of the Capital Investment Fund, Nebojsa Malenković.
On this occasion, the agreements on cooperation were signed between the Green Energy company and Vojvodina municipalities: Odžaci, Solin and Beočin.
Memorandum that was signed today represents a continuation of the cooperation established by signing an international agreement between the Slovak Republic and the Republic of Serbia, which created favorable conditions for the development of more effective cooperation, both among government institutions and foreign investors, and among the companies that have investment potential.
Natasa Bajic Pavićević stressed that satisfaction with cooperation is great especially as it continues to build energy facilities, which are necessary for our country, because of the obligation to 27 percent of energy from renewable energy sources by 2020, among other things.
This is the first step towards the realization of investments, and construction of facilities using all forms of renewable energy over the entire territory of the Republic of Serbia. Provincial Secretariat for Energy and Mineral Resources will give special attention by supporting local governments, where the Slovak company will start the construction of power plants, said Natasa Bajic Pavicevic.
Director of Green Energy from Slovakia, Lacko Tomas, said that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding is a significant step, because with this document starts active cooperation with the Government of AP Vojvodina, especially in the preparation of projects which will use renewable energy sources in the Republic of Serbia. Primarily, we are talking about projects that will use solar energy to generate electricity, and experiences gained in the realization of such projects in Slovakia will be used. Tomas said that this company wants to help and support the development of infrastructure in Vojvodina.
Like the Memorandum with the Government of AP Vojvodina, cooperation agreements with municipalities Sremska Mitrovica, Beočin and Odžaci were signed as well. In these cities 15 projects were prepared, which would give 15 MW of power after the implementation. Tomas expressed hope that during the 2013, all permits for the construction of these power plants will be obtained. In addition to solar energy, this company prepared the project of building wind farms in Vrsac municipality which will be implemented within the framework of cooperation of Slovak-Serbian Aid.
The aim of the Fund for capital investments was and still is to create conditions for the arrival of investors, and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Slovak company sends a message that all investors are welcome in our province, and good cooperation mechanisms with all provincial departments will be made, said Nebojsa Malenković.
He recalled that 45 percent of foreign investments, which have been implemented on the territory of Serbia so far, were implemented in Vojvodina. This percentage can be increased is through good cooperation and concrete measures that the Government of Vojvodina has to offer.
Otherwise, Green Energy Ltd. plans to invest 30 million Euros in projects for the production of energy from renewable energy sources in Vojvodina. 17 projects are in the process of implementation in the Republic of Serbia, and 10 inVojvodina.
