In the first eleven months of 2024, Slovenian electricity consumption totaled just over 9.9 TWh, marking a 1.1% decrease compared to the previous year and a 5.4% shortfall from initial projections for the year. Of this total, electricity distributors accounted for 8,731.4 GWh, which is a 1.7% decline from the same period in 2023.
The consumption of electricity by the pump-storage hydropower plant Avce also dropped, with 342.3 GWh used for pumping needs, reflecting a 6.9% decrease compared to 2023. In contrast, direct consumers—those connected directly to the transmission network—saw an increase, drawing 843.1 GWh of electricity. This represents an 8.6% rise compared to the previous year.
